On this day:

Basingstoke Southern Men's League Invite

I received an email off Martin Tarsey of Basingstoke & Mid Hants Athletic Club yesterday, inviting me to run for them in the 5k in their home match in the Southern Men's League, Division One. Not sure whether I'd be A or B string, as Darryl May who I trained with last week is the other 5k candidate, but I'm pretty sure I don't mind either way. He reckons I'd finish 5th based on my 10k time, but I'm going to wait till after tomorrow to make any definite decision as I want to see how I react to 5k on the track (in the context of injury). Also, I cant keep backing off my training for races (which I'd have to do to make a good show of myself at Basingstoke)! I'd like to get a decent training/mileage block in for the impeding Wargrave 10k. It would be nice to wear the infamous yellow, red & black vest though (with the potential of being in the British Athletic League next year). I'll keep you informed...
